  • The People’s Choice Awards Recap

    Jan 14
    2012

The People's Choice Awards started off the awards season the other night. I can't say it kicked off with a huge bang but just enough to keep us looking ahead to the other award shows. The fashion was okay, nothing really that blew anyone's mind. Maybe the goal is to start off low key and work the carpet as they head into each award show. That makes sense, since we will see the same people for the next six weeks. Here are my highlights, but I want to know what you think too. Leave me a comment. What was your favorite moment. Your favorite outfit?   Here are a few highlights:

  • Red Lips!

    Jan 11
    2012

You  should always wear red lipstick! Pink- Red, Blood-Red, Purple-Red, Red Rose, Fushia Fixx, Brave Red, Ruby Roo, Lady Bug and of course Russian Red. And if you are straight man who's reading my blog - I'm sorry that you don't have the ability to experience the red lipstick, crowd shut down experience.  It is nothing like it!  Believe me!  It comes with a certain energy, vibe, sense and smell. A woman won't ever feel more of a woman than on the day she wears red lipstick. It's like a magic stick for an enchantress. Enchantress's create miracles here and there, but with that magic stick, she goes in full force. Her confidence goes through the roof!

  • Favorite IPhone App

    Dec 26
    2011

I’ve told you guys before that I love my iPhone. This little machine can literally do anything for me. It’s a mini-computer that I carry around in my pocket everywhere I go. I have to say, however, that I can’t get enough of it because of a certain app. Everyone has a favorite one on this little gadget and mine would be iFunny. It’s the app that features tons of demotivational posters. Those are basically pictures that make funny and satirical comments about everyday life. It also features hilarious pictures that always remind you to never take life too seriously. I don't know about you guys, but lately I’ve been insanely busy.

  • Someone Like You

    Dec 22
    2011

I find Adele’s “Someone Like You” song incredibly touching. I’m definitely not the first person to say that, but it came on the radio today and it put me into a very emotional place. It got me thinking about love and relationships. It made me ask the question: “When you love someone and it doesn't work out, where does that love go?” If it was truly love, then it can't possibly just disappear because you are not together anymore. You feel angry if it didn’t work out well and you might say you hate the person. The truth, at least I think, is that when you love someone, you don't care how much they hurt you. The love is still there and if it was real love, it will always be there. I think it takes a lot of courage to admit that, especially if you know that the person you love has moved on.  That is why “Someone Like You” hit such a personal note. It truly shows where the love goes after the break up.

  • Did Donatella Stay True to the Vision of Versace?

    Dec 19
    2011

    Versace Collections

With the recent release of Versace for H&M, I wonder if the original vision for Versace has shifted just a bit.  Looking back at collections in the late 90's, the clothing was constructed around the themes of monochramatic colors and clean, crisp lines. The collections enhanced the female form with elegance and grace.

  • Leveraging Your Mind

    Dec 15
    2011

    Sasha

Opportunities are endless even in this economy. Are you leveraging yourself enough to sit at the table to deal your hand of cards? I read an interesting quote this morning from, a PR guru, she said, " If you are in a room and no one remembers that you were even there, it is a waste of your face in the place." I thought about that. She made a great point. How many times have we been in THE place and not made ourselves, credentials, skill set, or personality known? How many times have we silenced our own voice because of intimidation and missed what could have been a great opportunity? Are you in the game or watching the game? As the year comes to a close, ask yourself, if you have allowed fear to stop you moving forward. New Year's resolutions are great but if you walk into the New Year with the same way of thinking, your 2012 will be the same as your 2011. You have the ability every second to change how you play your game. You can choose to be spontaneous and create your own rules or you can remain a spectator. I'd rather regret what I've done than what I haven't done.  The worst thing is not to fail but not to try. Do whatever you need to to make your dream life become a reality.

  • What is the Secret behind Victoria’s Show?

    Nov 25
    2011

I love Victoria’s Secret shows! When I was a child, I dreamed about those humongous, elegant wings softly swaying effortlessly in the air. They literally  looked exactly the same in my dreams!!!! I faint when I see the soft, lustrous designs perfectly fitted to create shapes you couldn’t imagine could exist as a piece of clothing. Pastel colors illuminating from the stage and the overall designs of the outfit erupt in bursts of creativity that the audience can’t help but appreciate. The models on the stage, flaunting their beautiful bright and shiny pieces and projecting an aura of confident energy, remind me of the Barbie dolls I played with as a child. All of this brings you to the world of a fairy tale.  And of course we can’t forget the million dollar bra! I love that!

  • Counting Down to the New Year

    Nov 23
    2011

New York gets crazier and more amped up than any other place in the world around New Years. All of the decorations, people in costumes and so many heavily ornamented Christmas trees almost make you think that New Years started in New York. I mean the city and the holiday even have the same abbreviation and sound very similar.
